Snow forecast for much of Britain as onset of spring fails to shift bad weather

Press Association: There will be no let-up in the bad weather over the weekend, with snow across much of Britain and flooding expected in the south-west. On Thursday night emergency services responded to a surge in weather-related call-outs as heavy rainfall continued to blight communities.
