NJ group US Strong calls for federal fund to cover extreme weather events

Record: Federal funds need to be dedicated to respond to and protect communities against extreme weather events, according to a non-profit group that found that Superstorm Sandy's costs have exceeded $70 billion. US Strong, a non-partisan group based out of New Jersey and focused on protecting communities from such weather events, is calling for the creation of an "Extreme Weather Relief and Protection Fund' after releasing a report Monday that revealed that New Jersey, at $38 billion, accounted for more......
