Guardian: The beleaguered oil company BP needs any friend it can get as it faces uproar over its catastrophic Gulf of Mexico spill. An unexpected sympathiser has materialised in the shape of Eddie Izzard, the comedian, actor, occasional transvestite and Labour activist.
