Drought becomes top environmental priority for Californians

KQED: Drought has moved to the top of the list in the latest survey of Californians` environmental worries.
In a statewide poll conducted during the second week of July, more than a third of respondents (35 percent) cited water supply and drought as "the most important environmental issue facing California today." That more than doubled the second most popular response, which was air pollution.
It`s the first time since the annual survey was launched in 2000 that Californians have cited water supply...
Report: Climate change already having major impacts on California

KQED: Climate change poses an "immediate and growing threat" to California's water, vegetation and wildlife according to a report released Thursday by the state's Environmental Protection Agency. The report outlines the current effects, which include increased wildfires, rising sea levels along the California coasts and migration of plants and animals to higher elevations. 2013 California fire season brings stronger fires

KQED: After two years of sparse rains, California fire officials say this year's wildfire season has started a month earlier than usual and that the fires are stronger. We'll discuss fire danger in Northern California and what residents can do to help prevent it. What can the state can do in the long term to adapt to the possibility of increasingly long fire seasons and more deadly fires due to climate change?
