Climate Change Will Harm Mekong Basin Harvests

Climate News Network: One of the most fertile areas of south east Asia, the Lower Mekong Basin, faces a bleak future from the impacts of climate change, according to a U.S.-funded study.
The lead author of the study, Dr. Jeremy Carew-Reid, says some of its findings are "very shocking.'
Hotter and wetter rainy seasons and more long-lasting dry seasons in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam will jeopardize the region's reputation as one of the world's major producers of crops on which hundreds of millions depend....

Study Shows Canada’s Far North Glaciers Are Melting Fast

Climate News Network: Canada's Arctic Archipelago glaciers will melt faster than ever in the next few centuries, research by European-funded scientists has shown.
They say 20 percent of the Canadian Arctic glaciers may have disappeared by the end of this century, which would mean an extra sea level rise of 3.5cm (1.4 inches).

Climate News Network: The world has missed the chance to keep greenhouse gas emissions below the level needed to prevent the temperature climbing above 2°C, according to the British scientist who used to chair the IPCC, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
