Scientists Warn of Climate Shift Within Decades, Research
Posted by Canada Journal: None Given on March 23rd, 2016
Canada Journal: The warning was made in a paper released on Tuesday citing research led by retired NASA scientist James E. Hansen, according to The New York Times.
Co-authored by 18 other scientists, the paper apparently suggests the world’s nations were wrong in believing they could bring the crisis to a non-hazardous level with previously suggested limits to global warming.
By the end of the century, climate change could produce storms and a rise in sea level that would obliterate much of the world’s coastal...
Sierra Nevada snowpack lowest in 500 years; new study says

Canada Journal: The Sierra Nevada snowpack that is a critical water source for California fell to a 500-year low last winter – far worse than scientists had estimated and underlining the severity of the current drought, according to new research.
For the study, published in the journal Nature Climate Change, researchers compared the snowpack on April 1 with estimates from the last 500 years derived from tree ring studies. Tree rings provide a window into the climate of centuries past, expanding during warm periods...

Canada Journal: Climate change and high rates of extinctions of animals and plants are pushing the Earth into a danger zone for humanity, said a scientific report card about mankind`s impact on nature.
In a new study published in the journal Science, an international team of 18 researchers argue the most important “planetary boundary” is the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, followed closely by the rate of species extinction.
The other “planetary boundaries” the planet’s exceeding are the rate of...

Canada Journal: According to report that was released by the United Nations today, March 31, 2014, the organization has stated that climate change is a potential threat to human security and the effects of the rapid change in climate and global warming will badly effect the poor sector of the society, which obviously has less to do with man made change in the climate.
Rajendra K. Pachauri, IPCC Chairman, said the impact of climate change will be determined by the preparation of different areas and able to mitigate...
