Business Insider: Hundreds of protestors flocked to Mauna Kea on Wednesday to block construction of the world's largest optical telescope.
It's the second time in the past few months that demonstrations have broken out on the dormant volcano.

Business Insider: A remote piece of land 14,000 feet above sea level, Mauna Kea, is one of native Hawaiians' most sacred sites. It also happens to be one of the best places in the world to build a telescope capable of spotting parts of the universe no one has seen before.

Business Insider: This is the plane that the researchers used to survey the land and map where the mines are.
Years of illegal gold mining in Peru have taken a serious toll on the Amazon rainforest.
No one knew the full extent of the damage until a research team from the Carnegie Institution of Science and Peru's Ministry of the Environment used satellite imagery to map the damage.
Their findings are published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
