Court Strikes Down Nebraska Law That Allowed Keystone XL Pipeline

Omaha World-Herald: A judge has declared unconstitutional a Nebraska law used to reroute the Keystone XL pipeline. Lancaster County District Judge Stephanie Stacy ruled Wednesday that the 2012 law improperly gave the governor authority to approve the pipeline route, said David Domina, an Omaha attorney who represented plaintiffs in the case. Omaha World-Herald: Nebraska now stands alone when it comes to landowners who have yet to sign easements for the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline. TransCanada Inc., the company that wants to build the 1,700-mile crude oil pipeline, announced recently that it has reached agreement with 100 percent of landowners in five of the six states on the project route.
