Associated Press: The Hawaii Supreme Court granted a motion on Tuesday for a stay on the permit for the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea until Dec. 2 or until the court rules on the appeal of the permit. Supreme Court suspends TMT construction on Mauna Kea after emergency motion

KHON: The Hawaii Supreme Court has granted an emergency motion to halt construction on the Thirty Meter Telescope atop Mauna Kea. According to Tuesday’s ruling, “The Conservation District Use Permit HA-3568 is temporarily stayed until Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, or until further order of the Court.” TMT has until Nov. 24 to respond. Reuters: Four people have died in one of a series of wildfires sparked by lightening in Western Australia, police said on Wednesday, a deadly start to the country's summer bushfire season.
